Pantone predicted Mocha Mousse will be the color of the year. Who is Pantone? They’re a company providing a ‘universal language of color’ with major influence across several industries including makeup & fashion. Mocha Mousse is described as a ‘soft, warming brown’ that is reminiscent of chocolate & coffee. We can expect more soft browns & warm neutrals being introduced going forward in terms of soft glam. There’s already a shift in the industry going into 2025. I covered this in my previous article ‘2025 Beauty Predictions.’ Essentially, we’ll start to see makeup shift from natural to more defined & bold. Mocha Mousse is a perfect stepping stone in this transition because it is so versatile in natural to soft glam to full glam looks. Soft browns can be used in the crease to add depth or all over the lids to create a smokey effect. On the lips, warm-toned browns can elevate a natural base routine or can be darkened for a grungier-inspired look.

Expect to see brands launching more brown-inspired products. Eye shadow palettes with various browns are especially convenient if you’re venturing into makeup artistry. Soft glam looks are a staple in makeup artistry & browns will aid in achieving the desired look. Brown liners & glosses are another great investment as well. Brown liners can be paired easily with other neutral shades, such as pinks & nudes, while brown glosses can add a bit of tint to a nude lip.
